At the end of our travels in Ireland last summer, we had to say goodbye to our tent. After nine years of adventures, it wasn’t protecting us from the rain, and unfortunately, that’s not something that can be repaired. So we got ourselves an upgrade, and are now officially glampers instead of campers.

While we spent most of the summer at home, we did go away for a weekend to try our new tent. Living in Scotland, we’re quite spoiled for choice, and I found a campsite in the mountains, only 1.5 hours drive from our home. Not only did we have the best view, we also had the company of llamas, donkeys and sheep.

Since it was just two nights, we spent most of our time at the campsite, but on our travel days, we did get to see some of the beautiful surroundings – including my favourite viewpoint. So if you’re planning a trip to the Cairngorms, don’t skip over Glenshee, even if you only have time to pass through it.
